Foreboding Fruit

Foreboding Fruit

(poem)

so pretty are these
languishing delicious treasures
glowing in the midnight
of my secret cave
words sashaying around
like working girls
on a busy corner
trying to get my attention
batting their eyelashes
why is it always
the drippy heavy lonely ones
like desolation and darkness
that draw me in
why can’t I be attracted to words
like ebullient and illumination?

(poem)

at the inside
at the very deep
and long forgotten inside
where the light begins
where breathing is god
the place where music lives
where all is real
and love is made of liquid light
there with no thick sludge
no density of air or gravity
no menace of morality
there within are you and I
there where the doors lock
from the outside
and prison is everywhere else
